Recently, Microsoft has unveiled a new custom Xbox Wireless Controller that draws inspiration from the character Wolverine, coinciding with the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine movie. This latest release is just as eye-catching—and perhaps as polarizing—as the previous Deadpool-themed controller.

Designed with Wolverine in mind, the controller features a striking yellow and blue color scheme that mirrors the character’s iconic costume. The device also sports a distinctive rubberized texture for added grip. Much like its Deadpool counterpart, this Wolverine-inspired controller reveals an unexpected surprise when turned around: a detailed representation of Wolverine’s rear end is etched into the back of the controller.

As stated in an official Microsoft blog post, this controller was developed to meet fan requests for a Wolverine-inspired accessory after the launch of the Deadpool-themed Xbox Wireless Controller. The team quickly went into production to meet this demand, inspired partly by a sense of friendly competition and perhaps a bit of Wolverine’s famously fiery temper.

The announcement also mentions a billboard advertisement for the Wolverine controller that has appeared in Alberta, Canada. This promotional move is likened to the superhero equivalent of a friendship bracelet, only more public and attention-grabbing.

The previously revealed Deadpool controller was part of a console bundle giveaway that included a custom Xbox Series X console and a unique stand. However, Wolverine’s controller does not seem to be getting the same bundle treatment at this time.

While it’s unclear if this controller will be available for retail purchase, the blog post reveals that a promotional campaign is set to launch soon. This campaign will include a post with the hashtag #MicrosoftCheekySweepstakes on the Microsoft Instagram account, offering fans aged 18 and over a chance to participate in the rivalry and potentially win their very own cheeky controller.
