The development company responsible for creating the God of War series and The Order: 1886 has ceased operations

Initially, Ready at Dawn carved a niche for itself by creating standout titles like Daxter and the God of War series for the PlayStation, and later, it ventured into new territory with Deformers across multiple platforms. Unfortunately, this move did not captivate a wide audience. However, their expertise shone through with the release of Lone Echo, which demonstrated their adeptness in crafting exceptional virtual reality experiences. Their proficiency was so evident that Facebook acquired them in 2020. Yet, after the release of Lone Echo II, the studio has maintained a low profile, and now a hush will fall over its future endeavors.

This development comes as Android Central reports that Meta has decided to shutter Ready at Dawn permanently, subsequent to downsizing part of its workforce the previous year. This closure unfolds despite Meta announcing that the sales of Meta Quest 3 have surpassed their initial projections, marking a scenario where skilled game creators are being let go in pursuit of greater financial returns for the corporation.
